R.A.T.S. Tourniquet

Let's face it.  You never want to need one but, if you do, you can't possibly want one to show up fast enough.  
 
Tourniquet's are one of the easiest things to carry around and one of the most important necessities when faced with a random, completely unexpected, and traumatic casualty.  In these uncertain times, there are moments when we may be faced having to help save a life and one of the first rules of thumb is that you want to stop a bleeding limb as quickly as possible.  Enter the R.A.T.S. tourniquet.  
 
The Rapid Application Tourniquet System (R.A.T.S. U.S. Pat. No. 9,168,044) is the fastest tourniquet on the market and is used to stop massive hemorrhaging due to trauma. These Tourniquets use a solid elastic core of proprietary material with a polyester sheath, combined with a patented locking mechanism to make an incredibly fast tourniquet to apply to self or others. When properly applied, the Rapid Tourniquet is a safe and effective device for controlling life-threatening hemorrhaging . The Rapid Tourniquet should be properly disposed of after use. Consult an EMS professional for proper training on any and all tourniquet use. Do not apply over solid objects. Read all directions and understand proper use before any attempt to render aid. If used due to trauma, go to the nearest hospital immediately.
 
There are lots of debates as to what the best type of tourniquet is but the bottom line is that the best one is the one that is immediately at the ready and you are far more likely to have this available since it is so easy to carry on your person.  Not only are R.A.T.S. tourniquets small and easy to carry but they are arguably the fastest and easiest to apply to YOURSELF one handed were you to require it.
